Thursday 18 July 2013 8.45 am

On arrival at the newly refurbished Gallery we will have coffee & biscuits at about 10.30am. The galleries are arranged thematically, and centre on the internationally-significant collection of textiles, furniture, ceramics, paintings, designs and personal items connected with Morris and his associates, including the Pre-Raphaelite artists. Beautiful objects are complemented by films, audio and hands-on interactive.

At 12.30pm the coach will take us to Waltham Abbey Church, which dates back to the 12th Century.

Although the Abbey buildings were destroyed during the dissolution of the Monasteries, the nave of the church survived and became the Parish Church

A five minute walk into the small town will provide ample opportunity for lunch or bring a picnic to eat in the Abbey grounds.

The Guided Tour and talk will start at 2pm.for approximately 1 hour.
